The law was ill concieved. Yes, smoking is an issue but it could be handled better than a total ban.
The pubs are empty and life is changing in regard to Uk society. Yet one more thing to turn it all Muslim.
I think that it is the crappy newspapers and the television. People don't stand up and participate in government.

No such luck!!! This whole thing is a piece of nonsense,
What are they going to blame all the cancer related illnesses on in 20 years time?! Are they going to ban all the cars on the road? Because thats where all the damage is coming from,
I am quite obviously a smoker, and I miss my cig with a drink, but I am a sociable smoker, in fact my Husband and I have never smoked in our house for years, because I hate the smell, so why could they not have given us smoking areas in pubs etc.
I f someone decides to lobby the gov, I will be there, but I do not have the time to do it myself( nor the know how! ))

I love the ban!
yes, some bingo halls have problems, as the older smokers prefer to stay away. But pubs have NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
Regarding smoking in cars, I guess you refer to cars as a workplace, like taxi drivers, or driving instructers, there you will have the ban. It's no problem to smoke in a private car though.

Indeed. It just shows us though, that when this Government really wants to achieve something ( banning smoking), it is ruthlessly efficient. When it doesn't, but wants to give the impression that it is (immigration), it becomes surprisingly incompetent. On purpose, of course.

coz the whiny non-smokers won't shut the hell up if they were to legalise it again. I quite like the ban, it means I can get away for a cigarette and not have to listen to the health-conscious non-smokers drone on while they sink glass after glass of alcoholic beverages ...
