The tiger at the SF zoo didn't go crazy. She was a Siberian tiger which are the most aggressive specie there is. She may have been provoked, which like all animals, even humans, can get very angry. Catnip on house cats usually makes them more playful, so I doubt that catnip tossed to a wild cat would make her attack. It is much more likely that the tiger was provoked in some way. Unfortunately, people tease animals all the time, especially at zoos. I know this for a fact because my son worked at several different zoos in the United States for many years.

No they have discovered a boot print and some blood at the tiger's enclosure so they think that the 3 guys were enticing the tiger in some way which made her angry enough to swim the moat and jump the fence. They think one of them was dangling a leg or arm over the edge of it and she was too quick and gave one a swipe. They have to talk to the 2 survivors who were brothers and see what they have to say. Also a tiger enclosure is supposed to have a fence no lower than 5 meters which is roughly 20 feet and this one was only 3.8 meters which is roughly 12 feet.

well its not like the animals at the zoo are trained to be nice. in the wild the animal would attack you, so what do you expect a wild animal to do. it has thousands of people looking at it, shouting and throwing stuff at it all day. probably not treated very well by the zoo keepers. and there is never silence. and its not like the forests it lived in, in the wild with thousands of kms of space to roam freely in compared to the litttle space it had. we as humans deserved what happened, ot that person in paticular but all of society to show us these are cpable of easly killing us. the tiger also desereved to live, it was just doing what its insticts told it to do.
