Cuz no politicians have the guts to tell crack mamas to stuff it. Plus they'd have to say it to the kid too, who would then most likely be homeless or in a shelter somewhere. It's always easy to spend tax money to make people happy and get votes.
And that is your ten point best answer.

"About 3.8 million children receive approximately $1.6 billion each month because one or both of their parents are disabled, retired or deceased. Those dollars help to provide the necessities of life for family members and help to make it possible for those children to complete high school. When a parent becomes disabled or dies, Social Security benefits help to stabilize the family’s financial future."
This would mean, that since the mother is disabled, and the father has custody, the mother should pay child support.
Since the mother has only SSI to live on, the SSI pays her support payments for her because of her disability.

Why don't you go into the social security administration website and find out that answer for yourself. Her diagnosis of Bi-polar alone very well qualifies her for Social security disability AND because her child is under 18, he is entitled BY LAW to a PORTION of his mother's claim..... In order to get ON social security Disability, the requirements have become VERY VERY STRICT and NOT everyone who applies gets accepted.... your condition has to be VERIFIED BY A CERTIFIED MEDICAL PHYSICIAN or MORE and has to be of such a serious nature that it NEGATES one from performing a job... how do I know this??? I am on Social security Disability myself having contracted two TERMINAL illnesses last year.... my prognosis is grim .... you do NOT know all the circumstances behind this woman's receiving the disability...... I have to wonder how you know about her diagnosis of Bi-polar and how you "know she is a drug addict"...... IF this woman worked even a few years EVER in her life and is unable to work now due to her MENTAL or PHYSICAL CONDITION and that condition has been VERIFIED by medical doctors, what business is it of YOURS??????

That money has to be kept in a separate accountand has to be accounted for at the end of every year. It is to ensure that the child gets the basics he/she needs to live. Housing, food, clothing. Anything left over must be kept in the bank and is turned over to the child upon reaching 18 or graduation whichever comes last.

Disabled mother... child entitled to child support, it is paid thru SSI... same as it would be if it were a disabled father.
Perhaps you should go look up the definition of 'fraud'.

Who knows if the chjld gets any money. How do you know the father gets a check? The mother deserves it if she is bipolar! I have a question for your question. This should answer your question... Why is it your buisness? As long as there not hurting you or the child, its none of your buisness.

Make everyone who applies for SSI, medicare, or any government funded assistance, go through a routine drug screening. If they don't pass they get nothing. But maybe a trip to jail.
If I have to pass a drug test to earn my money then I want the taxes I pay to go to people who've passed drug testing ONLY

Lets see the Mum may get disability, the Dad a single parent's pension. The kid does need someone to look after him. What's your problem?
Do you just object to Welfare per se?
