Genocide is occurring in Darfur, Sudan today. Genocide occurred in the former Yugoslavia and in Rwanda in the 1990's.
The US has been accused on genocide by it's action in Iraq but using the definition of genocide (intentionally killing or trying to kill all members of an ethnic or religious group) this is not the case.

Darfur, in Sudan. The government of Sudan is an Islamic one and most of the inhabitants of Darfur are black Africans, some of whom are Christian while others follow traditional animist religions. Hundreds of thousands of Durfurians have been killed while others have been maimed and/or raped.
It is estimated that more than 2 million of them are homeless at this time.
