I hired a number of east European peasants to work for me. I've now been told that at £2.00 an hour, I'm paying them below something called the minimum wage. What should this matter to my peasants?

You should feed your peasants table scraps and dog food like we do. Silly peasants, they don't need money!

If the laws in your country (obviously you are from Great Britian somewhere).... state that each employee is to receive a SET AMOUNT PER HOUR as a minimum wage, then who are YOU to go against the law... whether these people are "peasants" illegal immigrants or whatever, they are ENTITLED to what the LAW STATES is at LEAST minimum wage.... This should not only matter to your working "peasants", but also to the TAX LAWS of your country.... you could be arrested for unlawfully paying your employees too little AND paying your goernment too little in taxes on their wages---especially since each employee should be earning MORE and you should be paying more taxes on those wages..... can you spell JAIL?????

Dude, what are peasants? You shouldn't be paying anyone under minimum wage. Greed never prospers.
