Mario Lemieux. Poise precision and power.

Maurice Richard. Those eyes would scare the hell out of today's goalies, and he scored 544 goals, reaching 500 before any other player in history even had 400. He was Wayne Gretzky before Gretzky was born.

Runner-up, Bobby Hull. Hull himself wouldn't scare anyone, but his 30-MPH skating and that 118-MPH slapshot sure would, especially if he had the (later-banned) "banana blade" on his stick. Fastest skater ever, fastest shot ever.

Either Mario Lemieux or Joe Sakic. Sakic has never missed a penalty shot in his career (5 for 5, or 6 for 6 I believe). But the slight edge, I think would go to Lemieux.

Copas: Yeah, and you saying that my avatar sucks is still the "no sh!t" statement of the day.

Oh yeah, btw, Datsyuk = Absolute sickest ownage of goalies. But sometimes it gets too complicated and doesn't work. Like Bob said; he can outthink himself.

Al MacInnis

He's just line it up and fire it at the goaltender. It will leave a 3" hole going in, but a 3-foot hole coming out! That's providing the goalie is brave/dumb enough to stand there and take a bullet like that.

I didn't watch the match like you guys with the pay TV. But I am a bit shock to see the scores by Warriors... what happened to Broncos. I tipped them to win, they seems to be coming in strong with all the new boys. Perhaps Warriors has revamped themselves.. It seems like those losing for the past 2 matches will start to score well. Like the Bulldogs, you can feel that they are picking up momentum. And the attitude is there. Seems like Broncos will be in trouble going for the next few matches with injuries.

Based solely on players I have seen, I would take Lemieux.

BTW, what is Kovalev's record in shootouts? I hear he is one of the best 'danglers' in recent history, but has that worked for him in the shootout I wonder?

I rather like Mike's avatar, Copas. What's wrong with it?
(BTW - I was just messing with you. You ALL seem like a really great group of people hanging out here!) :-)

On the ice right now, I would take Val Filppula, who is 2 for 2 so far this season.

i would pick Erik Christensen from the penguins only because he does really good at the shootout so he would be perfect for a penalty shot

Peter Forsberg in his prime. Jussi Jokinen today- has scored the most ever shoot-out goals.
