It is North of the river next to Pleasant Valley and near Liberty. It is a nice older neighbourhood with the biggest employer being the Ford Assembly plant. Main crossroad is US Highway 69 and Interstate loop 435

I live 5 blocks from Claycomo. It is a lower class white neighborhood. The middle school and high school suck. It has alot of white trash. I am not going to slam it hard but I will say the Kansas City metro area has about 2 million people. There are two indoor gun ranges in the metro. One is in claycomo. The other is Independence which use to be the crystal meth capital of the USA. And I will also say there are no upper class in the town.

Claycomo MO Area:
From KCI airport: Take I-435 (east) to the Claycomo exit; go west.
From Downtown KC: take Locust north to NKCMO and trun east (right) onto Aromur and Armour east to I-435 then north on I-435 to the Claycomo exit--just north of World of Fun.
Claycomo is north of World's of Fun off I-435.
In general terms, Claycomo is north of the river and south of Liberty. If you are going to Claycomo, check out Liberty (a lot nicer than Claycomo) including the areas around downtown Liberty.

I am not saying it's not a nice place, but I wouldn't want to live there. However, you should make a decision based on your experience, not mine.

It's a solid middle-class neighborhood. Like everyplace, it has its issues, but my friends who live there don't complain much. It's in a good school district.
