Not really. It survives at a municpal and county level, but not at a state or federal level because bipartisan democracy has failed to renew itself with the emergence of a new party capable of winning in large election, hence the process is morimund. Two moribund parties running candidates who are both severely authoritarian, inevitably pro-zionist - this is a choice? We need to see the emergence of new parties to replace these two dinosaurs. I'm a Democratic Socialist myself. We have no party.

The US is a Constitutional Republic.

The word democracy is rather ambiguous and I prefer not to use it unqualified.

“Democracy was Aristotle's name for corrupt rule by the majority, and it was to be feared as a dangerous kind of mob rule.
...
The term democracy can be confusing because some nations that have kept the forms of monarchy and aristocracy, such as the United Kingdom and Japan, actually function as democracies. On the other hand, some nations calling themselves democracies or republics are not democratic at all.” - The World Book Encyclopedia, 2005

That being said the current state of the US gov seems to be more like an oligarchy in my opinion.

Pay attention son. We are only about 11 months from a presidential election, so of course democracy is still in place in the US. As a non-citizen I can see how you would be confused, foreign media is notorious for their idiocy

yes, the gift from our founding fathers is still alive, it just happens to be a gift that most people leave unwrapped under the tree because it's not as big or exciting as some of the others.

Most of the people who claim otherwise were brought up to believe that the world should bend to meet their every demand, therefore if they vote for A and B wins, they assume the entire process is invalid and in need of major overhaul...

This is a question from an obvious dissenter.

We have your ISP address...
We know where you live...
We are coming to liberate you--to a secret prison in a country that allows us to torture.

Do you prefer water-boarding, electrocution, mock execution, or to watch one of your family members get raped in front of you?

Does that answer your question?
