$ 125.00 an hour. That's cheap. He's cutting your dad a break.
175.00 an hour is closer to the going rate, more, if they go to court, and this does not include expenses.
So, don't waste a minute of his time.

If it was then the lawyer would have to charge less if he wants to remain in employment.
Go elsewhere if it's cheaper, but the lawyer's advice may be equally as cheap. How much work one wants to do for your dad is more important, so go to a lower paying lawyer and pay him extra - that way he'll work that extra bit harder.

Whatever you may pay to your lawyer will be saved in what you would lose if you had not hired one.
Also, in law, quality is usually relative to price. If you are finding an attorney who is billing significantly under the competition, you are most likely finding a desperate attorney with debt or other obligations who will end up hurting your case rather than helping.

I'd say that's about average. Lawyers aren't cheap no matter where you go. You can find one's that are less expensive, but remember, generally speaking, you get what you pay for.

That sounds a bit on the low side, so your dad may be getting a good deal.
