1- Self defense
2- If she hit him first, he has the right to hit her back. Although not smart, it is justified in my book.

Don't forget that if a man hits a woman in self defense, she can always call the cops and claim that he hit her first. He will always be charged with assault, and if they live together, he will kicked out of his own home etc etc.
As far as the law is concerned, a man is never allowed to defend himself against a woman. She has full rights to do whatever she wishes and he has to cop it on the chin and beg for mercy.
Thank you feminists !

Self defense or defending a 3rd party. If she murdered someone the state is the only thing entitled to punish her.

If she hits him first...provided he hits back without excessive use of force....it then wouldn't be called abuse.

Beware. A man who hits a woman will see the entire judicial system turn on him to protect the poor, innocent, and helpless woman.

A woman who hits a man quickly learns that society firstly thinks he deserved it.

I've had a woman throw hot coffee in my eyes for no discernible reason, and I still didn't hit her, so for me probably never. Just beat the crap out of her boyfriend for satisfaction, they broke up shortly after.

Edit: Then you shoot her, just don't hit her. Bullets aren't sexist.

Only if he is defending himself from a physical attack by her, and in that situation he should remember that he is probably physically stronger and only use as much force as necessary. For example, if a girl flies at a guy to punch her in the face, and pushing her onto her butt might be acceptable. Pushing her down, punching her in the face, and then choking her is NOT.

Self-defense. That goes for everyone: man, woman, child.

If he's defending himself against a physical attack by her. Those are the only circumstances under which anyone of any gender should be hitting another person of any gender.

... no

Violence leads to more violence.

EDIT: Allow me to elaborate. Lets say you and I got into an argument and you hit me. Not acceptable for obvious reasons. Lets say we were in a fight and I hit you. Don't hit back, leave me. Lets say we got into a fight and I left and killed your family. Arrest me and throw me in jail so I can't do it again.

If you hit back on any of these scenes then that's just going to escalate the hit to a full on fight. That has never solved anything but got people more annoyed and more frustrated and more violent.
