This match is not going to be a draw. That will happen only if it starts raining in Melbourne.

So two things can happen -
* Australia will get 10 wickets & will win the match.
* India will score 499 runs & will win the matche.

Now no team has ever scored 499 runs in the 4th inning to win the match in the history of this game. If India scored 499 then this will be a new world record.

Australia is favorite to win the match but at the same time i would say that this target is 'Achievable'.

Saving India from defeat indirectly means the chance of India winning this match as I dont see this getting drawn. What India needs is around less than 3 RPO. So, if India has wickets remaining in hand till end of day 5, that means that India could win this even with a run rate under 3.

But being realistic, India needs to bat out two days against exceptional quality of bowling. I think this is probably the last tour of Aus for the fab four - RD, SRT, VVS and SCG; and also indeed Kumble. So, I guess if there was ever a big goal in their career, then this should be their chance. This is the time for the seniors to put up a brave effort and show the world that they are still one of the greatest batsmen around.

The time has come to show their true class, and records are meant to be broken. I dont see any reason why this cant happen!

God!!!!!
The forecast is not good for India and hence no rains which
means India has to play 180 overs today and t'row and also
score 499 runs to win. On the other hand, Australia has to
bowl in 36-40 celcius and take 10 wkts to win this test.

So who has a better chance? I personally say that Aussies
will win, just because they are capable of taking those 10 wkts.
Even though India has started well, they cannot loose wkts
and also score runs....if they end up close to 275 for 3 wkts
or less, they have a chance to wrap up t'row. The chances
of this are very very difficult if not impossible.
