I leave Yahoo Mail up all day long when I'm working. And IM gives me alerts as well when I have it turned on. I check my 360 messages about once an hour or so.

Well really only once a day, because once I login, it will tell me when I have an email so I don't have to be checking it all the time - same for work and personal email, I get alerted when I have mail.

My email stays open anytime that I am online. It will alert me when I have a new message. I'd say I get a new message on average every 15 minutes while I'm at work and at home maybe once every two to three hours.
