You should just tell him.
It's better to be safe than sorry just in case you somehow end up with an STD...
Condoms are not 100% effective in protecting you, you know. Imagine being with out them and just on the pill...

If you can't be honest with your dr then you are no where near being mature enough to have sex.
Grow up and just ask to be put on birthcontrol if your lieing because of fear of your parents finding out. Because of the laws now, The dr can not discuss with your parents or anyone else for that matter with out your permission about your medical file.
So be up front don't lie about it. It does nothing but cause you trouble and if you have that on your file, it follows you.
Starjess: you are a bit misinformed about the confidentiality agreements of drs. They arn't bound by any confidentiality agreements when they take an oath. It's the law called HIPPA. It protects patients from having their information exposed.

Don't lie to the doctor. Just tell him/her that you have been sexually active & would like to get on the pill. They can't tell your parents because of a confidentiality policy.

The doctor will ask you abunch of questions about your "irregular period" and you will have no answers. Just tell her you are having sex, she can't tell your parents if thats what you are worried about. And anyways if she does an exam she will be able to tell you have had sex.

You don't have to go to your regular doctor. I recommend Planned Parenthood if they have one in your area. At sixteen they would most likely give you free birth control or a reduced rate. It is based on your income.

She might. You should, instead, check the clinic's confidentiality agreement and if it has a privacy policy for minors tell your doctor the truth.

Why lie? She is bound by the confidentiality agreement she took when she became a doctor. She can't tell anyone. If you lie she might want to do tests and stuff.

Not necessarily and whoever pays for your meds will know something is up.
Go ahead and risk getting pregnant. The worst that can happen is you will get pregnant, dumped and start your career as a welfare mother with no husband and no father for the baby, with a reputation of being an "easy lay".
This is the risk your taking hon.

You should just tell him you're sexually active. That way he can do a pap smear to make sure everything's okay.
He can't tell your mom about it.
