We should be so lucky. It has been going on long enough and what is good about it? It promotes violence and is totally degrading to women. When I hear a woman listening to some of this crap I wonder is she just stupid or doesn't she care anything about herself at all.
I know not 100% is like that but enough of it is.
The death of rap couldn't come soon enough for me, you've heard one song, you've heard them all. They all sound the same.
And what's up with this dumba** east coast-west coast shi*.
Can't the rappers find anyone else to complain about besides all the other shi*?

I'm an old rocker for a ways back, and worked on the army to smash disco (yeah, that was a while ago) but I find many rap/hip hop groups to be very tallented and valid. OutKast as mentioned already. Love the Beastie Boys. Tribe Called Quest is great. Jurrasic 5 is happening too. This from a guy who is an old Pink Floyd fan, Led Zeppelin fan, and a Frank Zappa fan. Go figure.

No; why would you think that? There is some good rap/hip-hop out there such as the roots, stetasonic, del tha funky homosapian, etc. Most mainstream stuff sucks though. But honestly, todays rock music is probably more devoid of creativitiy than rap music right now.

Hmmm...some could make the same argument about Rock, and this is coming from a Rock fan.

The mainstream stuff of just about any genre right now is the worst of it. You need to look deeper to find the real thing.

Oh God I hope so. How anyone can consider rap as music when the performer is not singing is beyond me. Backup music to someone talking is not music. If the people who rap are so talented then they should try carrying a tune, that's where the talent is at.

OMG how wondeful would that be? I doubt that will be happening anytime soon. I'll be hoping though...

It's not like we have any good rock music these days to replace the rap with :-/ What a shame.

Whatever happened to the classic Rock N Roll?? I will never get over that.

oh hopefully!
Theres like 2 good rappers who I can tolerate. I mean obviously Kanye West is very talented. But other wise mind-numbling repetitive, occasionally chauvinistic, with the creative talent of a goldfish! One too many ''rappers'' without talent just good marketing!

Good rap died many years ago. Rap itself? Nope, there will always be rural white boys (you know the main listeners of rap which was proven actually) thus there will always be some sort of rap.

Yeah, they are called OutKast. Check 'em out sometime. Other than that, rap has been dead for at least 10 years.

God, I hope so.
