Religion is no criteria to judge anyone...every religion has more or less the same guidelines. And to follow a religion or not is totally one's decision.

The human being himself.
Everybody is trying to improve him : the parents, the teachers, the priests, the society, the civilization. Everybody is trying to improve you, and nobody can stand that much improvement. And the total result is that you never attain to be the ideal man, you simply become a condemner of yourself. The ideal is impossible, the ideal is imaginary. The ideal is simply not possible, abstract, not natural. And everybody is being forced, pulled and pushed from every direction to improve. From everywhere comes the message that whatsoever you are, you are wrong -- improve. That creates a self-condemnation; you reject yourself, you are not worthy -- worthless, rubbish, rot.
Only love never tries to improve you, accepts you as you are. When somebody loves you, you are simply perfect, the ideal, as you are. And if lovers are also trying to improve each other, they are not lovers. Again the whole game is there. Love accepts you as you are, and through this acceptance happens a transformation.
So, to me, there is no ideal man and no ideal woman. The ideal man and woman are neurotics -- they need to be hospitalized. I don't carry any idea of perfection. I am very much against the idea of perfection, because that is the greatest calamity that has happened to man. I am for totality. Be total in your acts. Be total, whatsoever you are doing. And never think of perfection -- because totality is in the present, and perfection is in the future.
The moment you bring in the future, you bring conflict. The moment you bring in the future, you bring tension, anguish, anxiety. The moment you bring in the future, you open the door of hell. Just be here now! Be real, and be herenow, and live your life moment to moment in deep gratitude.
And whether you are a man or a woman, how does it matter? Authenticity, spontaneity, totality, are not feminine or masculine.
It is you who divide human being into an atheist, theist, religious, non-religious; you don't look him as a human being in totality, you value something else in him, but not the human being himself, you compare him with some far-way ideal and find him lacking the traits of that ideal, and you create an image of that human being in relation to that ideal. And that image always looks dull in comparison to your ideal. Then you treat him as a second grade human being, the ideal one being the first grade in your mind.

As a human being, one should be a kind person, but is also open minded to everything and everyone. Religiosity should not count or take part in values of human beings because that i think is one of the hardest things to wrap around, RELIGION. This world and thing is braking and making people around the world.

Religion has no role in moulding the character of a human being. Even an atheist can be a role model of perfect human being. The character traits of good human being are either hereditary or acquired thro self efforts. A perfect human being either he/she should be loving, caring, affectinate, compassionate, sacrificing for any good cause. He/she should be leader and set an example for others.

I believe that a great personality makes the ideal human being. If they are kind, considerate, sweet and have aimable qualities like a good sense of humour, or a certain passion.
Religion isn't that much of a big deal for me, but being a Christian I would prefer it if this 'Ideal Being' had the same beliefs as me, as I could rest assured that I would see them when I die.

The ideal human FOR ME is simple, trustworthy, funny, good looking, christian, dangerous, and stable.
For me religion does count.
Being an atheist doesn't make anyone less of a person because we were all created equal.

More than religious or not,it is the spiritual awakening translated in day to day behaviour that matters. The behaviour that reflects the height of consciousness with which he operates(selfish/self seeking or universal/holistic),connecting to all beings in Nature(people, plants, animals, space etc.,) in a nurturing, respecting, regarding way and an ability to help others grow along with his own growth is most valuable in human being as human only can be that in the most exalted way!

I like a mix of humor and seriousness, they need to be able to trust, and be truthful. Religion doesn't matter to me, it's just a belief. I have my religion that no one can take from me, and I believe others should believe whatever they think is true. I have no right to tell others what to believe in. If someone is an atheist they are the same as someone who is a devout Christian or Muslim in my eyes, they are all the same.

I value Character the most in a Human Being. Actually many value Character, when you see a person with your own character you will want to make friends with him, you become his best friend.
Ideal human being is the one who has controlled his senses, and remains the same in pleasure and suffering, one who is free from all bondages like fear, shame, greed, lust etc
I actually respect any person who reasons out everything without blindly believing anything.
