Maybe it was a question you or someone else asked, or maybe it was an answer that left an impression? Or maybe it was something else, like meeting someone who shares your musical tastes? Is there something that happened this year that made your time spent in R&P worthwhile?

Here's one of mine: I asked a question a while ago about your R&P neighbors:

It was not only great to see people answer with where they are from, but to see people go back and talk to their fellow answerers...and neighbors. I thought that was awesome!

And it was great meeting all of you! I always appreciate your questions and your answers, so thank you.

Happy New Year, R&P! :)

I have a few selections that come to mind. Some of the moments range from the hilarious to very touching. As much as I would love to provide links to some of these questions, I’ve been very concerned about needless reporting going down here of late so I’m taking no chances. One of my favorite questions was asking what the silliest questions are that keep showing up in here. There were some great laughs that day. The other wasn’t too long ago, where I asked about how MCR saves lives.

More importantly, I’ve met a lot of great people in this room who share a deep knowledge and love of many of the same bands I’ve been into for many years. That means a lot. I know I said I wouldn’t post any links, but I think this particular question is pretty safe.

This one marked the beginning of the greatest run of questions by one individual in the R&P. Happy New Year, Sookie.

icouldbeagain - You're in good company. :)

With 2008 around the corner, I think that 2007 as a whole has been pretty decent. There have been a lot of funny/memorable Y!A moments and I'm happy to of had the opportunity of meeting many great users. The majority of us seem to get along well and I have a blast answering all you guys' questions, and also posting my own. I never know what I'm going to see and it may be sad.. but this is what gets me through all my long boring days of work.

Thanks for a great year my fellow R&P people. I learned a lot and look forward to sharing another entertaining year with you all. Have a happy, safe and prosperous new year and I look forward to the future memories with you crazy, (some what insane) individuals LOL.

Wish for the best and lets make it happen. Take care everyone! :)

*wow I got sappy on that one* lol

Not one particular moment, just the R&P experience in general.

It's just lovely having a place to express my opinions on music. I can't do that anywhere else.
I like the fact that I got over my fear of this section. When I first joined Y!A I didn't answer in this section much, as I noticed that there were regulars, TC's etc. and I thought my answers would be inadequate compared to all of yours. But I'm glad that I began posting because there are some lovely people here with very interesting and diverse points of view.
There's something that distinguishes each regular from another and it's like a [dysfunctional] online family, which is fun, ha..

I'll start to sound even more sappy than I already do if I continue, so I'll just wish you all a Happy New Year, I hope you all enjoy it.

Just meeting some very interesting and knowledgeable people who are willing to help and who are quite welcoming and friendly.. I'm talking about a few people in particular :

sarah : great taste in music. Found out she's seventeen like me. Helped me (and many others) to discover great bands such as Porcupine Tree..

Darth Maul : who shares my love for Led Zeppelin and Queen.. and a real metal-head and an endless supply of music trivia.

Fonzie T : who is also a great music guru, and who knows how to take the 'MCR fans' down with class and style :)

And many others : Silver, Cinnamon, Dani, Rckets, PinkFLoyd1962, Rocket Queen, Sookie, 80's Man.. You guys are the best

Overall I've had a great time in this section. There's a lot of people here who always provide great answers and questions. I've learned a lot more about genres of rock that I wasn't particularly interested in before, I've been introduced to some really good bands out there that I never knew existed, and finding out that there's other people who share my love for industrial and goth music was nice too. It's just been a lot fun! Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year Sookie!!!!

The whole R&P section has been quite a suprise for me. To find someone else my gae who listens to my music has been a major shock for me, and to find so many people who like Porcupine Tree was amazing.

Probably best moment that I can think of at the moment is finding out Isis likes 34 Satellite. We're talking about a band numerous record stores says doesn't exist!

But Darth's Christmas party was pretty awesome too

And through several questions of mine, I know what some peoples names and ages are, which pretty much helps to out a person behind the avatars ;0)

All the good folks that hang out on R & P. Sorry, I'm a little on the tired side (just arriving back from 9 days outside H-Town) and it's around midnight but I hope Christmas was fantastic and the New Year will be magnificent as well.

Hadn't seen that question before...I guess I am not the only one in Chicago. Since I'm more of a "lurker" here, I do find many of the questions interesting--no real favorites though. I am always looking for new music in the prog rock vein, so that is one reason I come here. (Sometimes I feel so old!) I did discover Radiohead here, so that's good! Happy New Year, everyone!

2007-12-28 09:51:19 · answer #9 · answered by Sax Player 5 · 3 0

Well, aside from meeting all of you :) , and discovering more great music, there was one moment.

I certainly wouldn't call it a 'happy' moment, but it was very poignant. There is one person here who knows what I am talking about, and I am very touched that the musical moment was able to be of some comfort.

That's all I'm going to say, as it was a private matter, and it's not my place to go into detail.
