Diamond is higher in value, by far. Diamond in large usable crystals is a precious gem stone. Titanium is just an ordinary metal, but not as common as iron, copper, nickel, zinc, aluminum, and some others. It's lightweight and strong. It also has quite a high melting temperature.

Diamonds are more valuable , size for size. A small piece of titanium metal the size of a small diamond is affordable to 99% of most people. A diamond surely isn't. Although the two are hardly comparable. Who would mount a piece of metal in a ring? Why would you ask that question? Titanium is rare, but not that rare, nor that valuable, as diamonds have visual value, whereas titanium doesn't.

Yesterday's highest price on the LME for titanium was $7.05 obviously a cut diamond even of poor quality is worth far more than this, however the price of diamonds is kept artificially high as their release onto the market is controlled (although I doubt they'll ever drop to the price of titanium!).

Hundreds of thousands of diamonds are of industrial grade or lower and their value is much less, in fact I once heard of a gemologist whose drive was not gravel but raw diamonds! So as you can see all titanium has a set value decided by the market and demand, it depends on the particular diamond as to it's value, if it has the three c's it's worth exponentially more than titanium, if not you might as well park your car on it!
