It depends on the plant and the reason why the plant is suffering. In short, yes, plants that appear to be dying can be revived but you must first determine what is causing them to be stressed and correct that. Larger plants, usually referred to as landscaping plants, such as shrubs and trees can often be rehabilitated the easiest as it takes longer for then to die off completely versus a smaller plant.

Another factor to consider is how long the plant has been stressed. If the plant has only recently started loking wilty you have better success than with a plant that has been slowly dying for a long time.

Some evergreen shrubs will appear to be dying when all they need is a little pruning.

I agree with kevin. I had a young angels trumpet tree that I accidentally let freeze, It's once broad and green lush leaves were a mess of sticky droopy brown, and it's trunk looked emaciated, wrinkled, and squishy, so I took it in and cut it down just just below the line where the squishy stopped and there was a little green, about an inch above the soil. the cut dried over and healed and it looked dead and bared all winter long, then in the spring leaves popped right out and it grew PAST it's previous maturity. What plant is it?? Even if you don't see regrowth right away, cut it down to just above the soil and wait until spring.

are you sure they are dying and not just 'going to sleep ' for the wintertime?.... many plants lose their leaves and look like dead sticks over winter.... but return quite nicely the next spring.....
watering is important if your area is not getting rain right now... test the ground with your fingers to see if there's ;moisture there or not.... if dry, then water deep and slow about once a week if it doesn 't rain......unless the ground freezes, there's root growth going on underground....

Did they die from lack of water or to much or not enough sun? Understand the reason why they started to die and give them what they need. It most likely is water. But if they are getting to much or not enough sun this also can kill them.

Call Chuck Norris and tell him to breathe on it. It will either die horribly, or grow 150% and turn into a pet eating animal.
