She has been on the same formula since birth, suddenly, it is not agreeing with her. She is gassy and irritable at mealtimes.

Thanks! I have had her on the gas drops for the last 2 weeks, but they are only working a little. I can't seem to get into my dr, of course!
I am thinking of changing formulas to the new Enfamil Gentlease, any thought on it?

It could be a milk protein allergy, so switching to gentlease may help since the proteins are partially broken down already.

when I put my son on formula he got fussy and gassy with the regular stuff, so I did try the Gentlease. That relieved the gassiness a lot but not completely, so I put him on lacto-free and it worked wonders for him.

Before you switch the formula, though, talk to your pediatrician (or the nurse in the office) about it and what options you're considering. They'll be able to let you know about all the things you'd need to be aware of =)

My son is almost 4 months old, and has shown the same symptoms you are describing. I am also breastfeeding, and he used to throw up all the time. I have since noticed that when he did this, he would bring in too much air, and the milk would sort of settle on top of an air bubble. Unless I burped him twice on each side, he would throw up. My milk comes out too fast. He has also gotten pretty cranky. I noticed drooling a lot more, and sometimes rubbing his gums makes him feel better. I believe he is teething. At his last doctor's appointment, she told me was perfectly healthy and happy. And his bowel movements are sometimes weird and irregular. That is most likely what you are either eating or drinking. It is normal with my children. My children have never had acid reflux.

Call the pediatricians office & let them know what's happening. They should be able to suggest other formulas you can use.

Your child is growing - obviously - and as he/she grows, his/her nourishment needs will change. I don't think all formulas have the same exact ingredients.

Good luck.

Talk to your dr. The formula your baby is on may no longer agree with her/him.
