Nolan Ryan, Cy Young, or Bob Gibson

I think anyone saying Gibson is crazy - the guy had a 1.89 ERA in the World Series, and was about as intimidating as they come. I'd probably go with Ryan. He and Cy Young both had the best fastballs of their generation, but the old guy had better control. At least with Ryan, I could take some pitches and pray for a walk.

Regardless of who I chose, there's no way I'd ever get the bat on the ball against any of them. By the time I completed my swing, the catcher would already be removing the ball from his glove.

I guess Cy Young. Not that he wasn't one of the greatest of all time. However, Bob Gibson was one of the most intimidating pitchers in history with nasty stuff. I've heard severl HOF say he was one of the toughest to hit.
Nolan Ryan's stuff was wild when he was young so I'd be afraid of dying. Norm Cash of the Tigers even brought a table leg to the plate against Ryan once just to show how hard he was to hit ( and to be funny of course).

People who say Gibson should look back at the 67 and 68 world series, where he blew everyone away.

I would hit against Cy Young because Gibson is too nasty, and Ryan is too wild - he might hit me with a pitch. At least against Young I could survive.

Well, if I was hitting in the World Series, or any other time of the year, I would NOT want to face any of those guys if I wanted to get a hit! I guess the best of those guys was Gibson, and the worst would be Young, because baseball in his day is different from now.
