Excellant, excellant question, Sylvia. Both of course. Even
today, I think kids do cause accidents. We were rear ended
when we saw the woman driver had partially turned in her
seat to deal with a child in the back behind the passenger
seat. She rammed into us and then in a panic managed to
maneuver her car out of her lane, and whip in and out of
traffic and made a clean get away. Hit and run, they call it.
But we couldn't do a thing. We were still wedged in, as another car pulled up quickly behind us. It loosened the
bumper to where it was ready to fall off. Luckily were were
in a mini van. But I was injured as the result and still can't
stand for long without pain.
And for the second question you ask, I'm sure it is just as
true today as it was years ago. People often, just don't think.

Yes kids in back seats cause accidents. back seats definitely caused kids. We got surprised by a cop once. No kids from that one.

I think it is getting increasingly difficult for first time buyers to buy property. I have a mortgage but if I did sell up I'd not be able to afford another property. I'm 40 and have been working for 20 years. I dread to think what house prices will be like in a couple of years if the bubble doesn't burst. Even "Affordable" Housing isn't affordable for the majority of the population. It doesn't just spell misery it spells disaster.

Your question reminds me of a Sunday School outing I went on and there wasn't enough room in the teachers' cars. One of us, me on the outward journey, had to travel all the way in the boot of this old Morris Oxford. Imagine the repercussions if that happened today!

Thanks for the laugh. I agree with your back seat theories.
I broke my leg a few years ago and had one of those long-leg casts that didn't bend enough to allow me to sit in the front passenger seat. I complained long and loud about having to ride in the back seat. Hadn't spent that much time in the back seat since I was a teenager!

Back seats were absolutely the most dangerous ride, and the Jim Beam safety belts didn't seem to help much.

Accidents happen when you least expect them to...with or without seats in the vehicle!

Not in my case, there was always more room to roll around at the point, where I used to live and more kids were probably created there than in the back seats by other kids.
