We all have our Christmas traditions some people take their decorations down the day after Christmas, some wait until the Epiphany to take them down, and some leave out some of the more special ones out all year.

I've never heard of that. We leave our tree and decorations up until after the New Year. In fact, some people leave theirs up until January 15th because of Three Kings day.

Never heard of that one. However, the little rule for New Years is that you are supposed to be doing whatever it is that you want to be doing for the rest of the year when the ball drops for good luck. Hence, alot of people have sex! So, having your Christmas decorations up (which I assume makes you happy as mine do) to me... means being happy and togeather with my family all year long. I guess its all in the way you look at it. If you want to keep them up... then by all means... let us all enjoy them a bit longer! Happy New Year!

The european tradition, and they invented Christmas and the decorations is that you're supposed to get them down by Twelfth Night, not New Year.
Your mum may have got other traditions.

I've never heard of that. Many people leave them up until the first part of January to celebrate the Epiphany where the wise men come. As long as it takes to get them all out and put them all up, I would prefer to enjoy them for a while before I have to take them down and put them all away.

Never heard of it.. actually, I was always told you are supposed to leave them up until New Year's. New Year's is part of "Seasons Greetings" and "Happy Holidays" but this year, I took mine down yesterday.. our tree was too dry. Best Wishes!
