Because liberals think Bush is controlling OPEC somehow, like he controlled hurricane Katrina to change course, speed up, and target democrats only.

50% of the gas prices increase is due to inflation. The US dollar now buys less in foreign countries where oil is produced compared to seven years ago. The reason for inflation is mostly the work of the republican party. They went on a spending spree between this war and their own earmarks.
President Bush is responsible for the war spending and making sure that the war spending increased our debt rather than finding a way to pay for the war.
The government debt has caused the rapid fall of the dollar.
Also the oil prices jump every time Bush threatens Iran. If Iran's oil were stopped for months at a time, the gas prices would go up a couple dollars per gallon.

As you can see, some either believe it's some grand Bush "Conspiracy"(BTW BOOM, The Gore family owns considerable stake in Occidental Pertoleum. How is Bush different?) or have no clue of how supply and demand works.
No one seems to think that "Gee, If we built more Oil refineries, gas supplies would be in shortage and prices wouldn't go through the roof when one of the few refineries goes down."
Or they buy into the propaganda that we must not drill in ANWAR because it will upset what little wildlife lives in the BARREN TUNDRA. These are the same people that were screaming that the Alaskan Pipeline was going to be an enviromental disaster. But it wasn't.
They are all for "Alternative energy" unless of course it's Nuclear. These people seem to be obivious to the fact Solar power and clouds don't mix as do windmill generators and wind is not constant.
They can't grasp the reality that Oil is the reliable source for energy at this time. By all means, develop alternatives. But they must be economical, reliable and readily available before it replaces Oil.

The Bush family has been in the oil business for decades. Bush's #1 campaign donor was Exxon-Mobil. Hmmmm, why could that be. What could be the reason that Exxon would use it's money to put someone like Bush into power HMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm.........
I love these people who compare gasoline to milk and printer ink too. Let's see, how many gallons of gas do you burn off every week? Last time I checked, my fridge didn't have a 12 gallon milk tank either. Sorry, but you can't compare the two. If you want to go there, how about this-I can by 50 pounds of sand at Home Depot for $2.49. Why can't I buy 50 gallons of gas for the same price? Apples to oranges.

yeah what u said about opec is true but the funny thing is we help convince the middle eastern nations to form opec so we could buy from 1 buyer instead of several different ones which was totally stupid

Because that's easy. They don't want to realize that by raising the taxes on oil companies, or forbidding them from drilling for oil, that they're increasing the price.
If you have a limited product and cannot replace it as easily it becomes more valuable because there's less of it. If you increase the cost of producing or transporting it, you're going to increase the cost because now it costs more to produce. It's not rocket science.

People are ignorant and will blame Bush for everything. The real reason for the high gas prices aside from OPEC is due to the fact the democrats have stopped every motion to build a new refinerey in the U.S. and also to drill in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico, China is drilling in the Gulf but our very own democrats won't allow us to do the same.

It's politics.
The opposition blames whatever they can on their opponents in an attempt to win political power.
The less educated the base of your political party the easier it is to convince them that they would be better off should you get in power. And they then can go out and attack the political supporters of your opponents ---they don't need to be right. They just need to be louder than the opponents supporters. That way those that are undecided only hear one sides view.
Bush gets blamed for everything---and I mean everything that has happened in the world (that is bad) since he was elected to office.
The democrats keep throwing accusations at him knowing that most of their followers will not hear the counter arguments.

Another question that makes an assumption without any proof.
Who said it was the fault of any administration? Who has blamed Bush for high oil prices, was it your friend from homeroom?
The oil prices in Europe are astronomical, if anything, our government has made promises with countries to keep the price low.

If anything bad happens in the USA, Bush is blamed by the Liberals. When good things happen, they ignore them and make up things that may get bad. Since Iraq is now showing positive results, they are dumming down the economy just to make Bush look bad. Our economy is in terrific shape but not according to the Liberals.

Because their consciousness is able to expand the thought that OPEC may make it's decisions based on America's involvement in the Mideast, but not able to expand that to the global picture of power struggle between the Communists, Islamic Radicals, and Free Peoples.
