its brand new but for some reason its just showing green and blue .....no red

what kind of computer, if is a desktop, make sure the display cable is fine, and ckeck the connections over again

This assumes your Graphics card is good.
Carefully check your video cable connections at both ends, PC and monitor.
If that doesn't fix the problem, the monitor may be defective. Try it on another PC first. Then: Return it to the store you bought it from.
