i am on Lamictal & I have not had a seizure in 4 years until last night. I had a deep cut on my finger that i thought healed up. It opened & started bleeding (i am not good with blood especially when it is dark.) So I got light headed, blurry vision, my ears started ringing & felt like i was going to pass out so I ran outside to get some air. I did pass out & ended up having a seizure. It lasted less than 1 min, my friend said i was sitting up for part of it & was convulsing. The convulsions were not too intense & I woke up feeling alot better than I have after any of the other 7 seizures i have had in my life.
More details...I got epilepsy 7 years ago in college (maybe hitting my head in basketball or sleep deprivation) most of my seizures are a result of lack of sleep or missing a dosage, this is the 1st seizure that wasnt in the morning. One time the dr was out of novocain and i let him remove a mole & a similar thing happened.
was it seeing the blood?
thanks for reading

Seeing blood is extremely unlikely to trigger a seizure. Fainting from the sight of blood or any other reason could possibly trigger a seizure. Its also possible that you merely fainted and didn't have a seizure at all. When people faint, they sometimes have myoclonic jerks that look like convulsions.

its possible that you hate seeing blood. Some peopel are like that. They get weak and light leaded. Please dont take my advice to heart, i am only human and dont know the correct answer for everything. But, i dont know if you would start convulsing and having seizures because you saw blood. I would consult your family doctor or a neurologist for further information.

I don't think seeing blood done this to you maybe your BP went crazy due to the sight of blood maybe your dilantion level was just off , My husband is an epileptic and he has seen blood plenty of times I believe it is something else. May be the stress of the open wound.
