If you are running a Windows XP operating system, click STart then click run. In the pop-up box type cmd. Another pop-up will come up (DOS) and then type ipconfig. Your IP address will come up along with the subnet mask and the default gateway addresses.
Hope this helps.

If you are behind a router to find out the public IP address unique to your residence, go to whatismyip.com
To find out (a) what IP address you have locally if you are on a local network (behind a router) or (b) what public IP address you have if you have a direct connection to the internet:
Start->Run (or Windows+R)
Type 'ipconfig'
Your IP address is shown

You can probably find out on the web, such as an IP tracking site.

Go to start - run, type cmd into the run box. That will get you to an MS-Dos command prompt. Then type ipconfig.
