So, Betty Boop was a brunette or a redhead? In her ONLY color cartoon, "Poor Cinderella", she is a redhead and she is suggested to ge the reincarnation of Clara Bow, a readhead actress of the 30s. And about the color of her eyes - I saw pictures with Betty having blue, green, grey, black eyes. So, any suggestions?

She had black hair. Clara Bow was the inspiration for a flapper cartoon character but the Fleischers modeled her after Helen Kane the actress/singer who was Betty's voice in the first Betty Boop cartoon. Helen sang Betty's signature song "I wanna be loved by you"
May Questal, the voice of Olive Oyl, took over Betty's voice after the first cartoon until the Fleischers stopped drawing her.

WRONG, WRONG , WRONG! BETTY BOOP was stolen from a 1920 s black woman-who was very fair and sang in night clubs and always sang the Boop-Boop Do Boop a the end of her songs. And the person who stole her image and capitalized on her without giving her one dime-lost in court when being sued. Knowledge is power!!!
