i have a very irregular cycle. always have. when i was 17 i was put on ortho ticyclin after having my period for 6 months straight. it helped for a while, but then i started getting my period for a full month, sometimes 2. i was put on necon, but after 6 months my period once again never stopped. back to ortho tricyclin. i was on that for a while, eventually it started messing up again. i would get my period then be off for a week, then get it again until i was SUPPOSED to get it, and this would happen month after month after month. last febuary i was put on zovia. it worked wonders for a while. not even once having break-thru bleeding. but, over the past 4 months its gone back to its 1 week off, continue bleeding until the next period starts.
its driving me crazy. i found out it runs in my family. i just reciently had my thyroid tested to rule that out, its fine. i'm just going nuts with this, and the cost of tampons!!! anyone have anything like this? what do you take?

i will be 26 in feb, so this has been an issue for years. my drs keep telling me that this is the best they can do, but i think thats BS. there has to be something out there. i dont want to ruin my chances of having kids in the future by doing anything drastic, but i'm almost at that point!

One pill that I took for bleeding that was similar to what you are dealing with is called Ovcon 50 and found that to be very helpful for my situation.

Based on your symptoms however there's another hormone imbalance that could be possible. The hormone imbalance is called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I was diagnosed with it at age 25.

I would recommend a consultation with a gynecologist if you haven't already to see what they think could be going on.
