can you speed burst while playing NHL '08 for ps3?

what is the buttom for speed burst? it used to be R1? right? any info?

You're not doing anything wrong - the speed burst button isn't included in the new version of the game. Instead, they've made the skating pace more realistic, instead of having guys pick up speed and slow down as easily as they did in the previous versions.

It just takes a little getting used to, but I think it's an improvement.

Look in the game manual it tells you all the different buttons.
