I just got this chinchilla yesterday evening, and he was fine. I put him in his cage and he went right into his igloo. Today I went to go see him, around noon, and he was dead! :( any idea what could of happend?

i just got this chinchilla yesterday evening, and he was fine. I put him in his cage and he went right into his igloo. Today I went to go see him, around noon, and he was dead! :( any idea what could of happend?
* When i got home i made up his cage, filled his water, filled his food dish, and gave him timmy hay.*

What was the age of this chin?
Where did you get him?
Most decent pets shops and any reputable breeder would offer some sort of warranty... especially after only 24-48 hrs.
A very young chin could have just stressed out and gave up ... a poorly breed animal could be suffering from heart problems. If he was shipped in from far away, shipping stress would be another factor. Before thinking about getting another chin you would need to do lots of research and study up on all areas of chin care.

Maybe he had a seizure or something. Keep an eye on him, make sure he's eating/drinking and going to the bathroom...if you notice this behavior more..then he should go to the veterinarian and have a wellness exam.

If you bought him from a pet store he very likely was sick. I am soooooooo sorry for you and him. I suggest going to the place you got him and demand another one or your money back. If you get another one take it to the vet before you bring it home. It is so wrong to sell sick pets!
