Taking God right out of it, at a citizen of this country, you have rights. Why should YOUR rights outweigh the rights of everyone else?

That little baby is a life, regardless of what word you use to describe it. That old woman who has lived a good life, a hard life, a long life but now she is infirm and it is difficult to take care of herself without aid, she too has a right to live. Everybody always talks about someones "right to die." Why doesnt anyone ever talk about someones right to live?

If you were walking down a dark alley and someone attacked you, would you not fight for your right to live? If someone were watching you get attacked, would you not want that passerby to defend your right to live? How, then, can you take the right that you claim as your own and deny it of someone else?

The very fact that you would FIGHT for your life shows that you find it precious. The fact that you get up every day and go about LIVING your life, no matter how mundane, PROVES that you look at that life, no matter how mundane, as a gift, or you would throw away.

Well, unless you're pregnant, you can't "commit abortion". And you can't commit "euthanasia" either; that's considered "murder".

I don't know if life is "God's gift", but it was a gift from your parents and their parents, and their parents and so on. You are the product of a whole lineage of people who laughed, cried, sometimes felt sad, and sometimes felt happy and joy. Some were more educated than others, some died young, some lived quite a while. Some had a whole lot of children, some had only one.
Check out your family, do some research on your family's history, and I mean go past your grandparents. It's a good way to get a feeling that there's something out there that's bigger than us all. Is it God? Maybe...depending on your beliefs. Maybe it's just science. But you will have a better feeling for the issues you raise.

Well, from a biological rather than a theological perspective, the opportunity for life to exist begins at fertilization. Each gamete (egg and sperm) have a nucleus as well as 23 chromosomes. When they come together in the female reproductive tract/vagina the nuclei fuse together, and a zygote is formed. This zygote has a single nucleus and 46 chromosomes (which is the same number as an adult human). The nucleus contains DNA, which is the unique genetic code of an individual. Therefore, it can be said that an individual's life begins at conception/fertilization and aborting would be the same as murder.

Why you 'should' or "shouldn't" is completely up to you. It is a personal, moral choice that you will have to live with. Nobody else can, or should, try to tell you how to act. It is entirely up to YOU. Others can offer advice, information, etc. Bet those things are choices that you have to make for yourself.
Also, you CAN have an abortion, it is legal. You CAN NOT perform euthanasia, it is illegal. God doesn't enter into the legal argument at all.

There is the moral issue. You are deciding whether someone else should live or die. I do not necessarily think that either are bad in the right situation but it is certainly something that a person should take lightly. Even if you take God out of the equation you still have no right to decide whether another person should be put to death without long deliberation.

Well, you CAN "commit" abortion...perfectly legal..

You CAN'T "commit" euthanasia .. it's illegal.

Therein lies the difference.

Perhaps because you will have to live the rest of your life knowing that you took someone else's and that you would find it hard to live your life with a burden of guilt.
Of course if you have no conscience- you would have no guilt-

You should do as your conscience dictates. Compared to what you believe, everyone else's opinion doesn't mean diddly squat.

My son is almost seven, why can't I abort? Why can't I change my mind. God or no god, murder is murder.
