Polititians are a "legal criminal" all you hear that any candidate "will" do is NOT what will happen in reality,Big Business dictates to them what they want and they pay the polititians for what they want and it's NEVER in the interest of the people, just for big business to get more money and money is POWER! When Bush was first elected he was said to be worth $15 million dollars and now he's worth $850 million and we only pay a President $325,000 per year,so how is it that he's worth so much now,it's big business and the oil industry giving him stock for doing what they want him and the government to do.And after 2009 when all Broadcasting has to be in digital, he will be a billionaire and big business will rake in trillions of dollars. We are being totally "railroaded" on this issue. We, the People have NO say in this and it will affect every man, woman and child in this country, that's NOT how the Constitution says it's supposed to be done,we should have to VOTE on this and all actions that seriously affect EVERYBODY.

Fiscal responsibility. We must not continue deficit spending...and, that may mean tightening our belts...cutting pork-barrel spending...and social programs. Let the religious folks get out of politics and back into doing good works, by providing for the poor, hungry, needy etc...things they are commanded by God to do....free up government funds and time to do the work that is important.
In addition, military spending in other parts of the world should be reeled in to some extent....maybe put more money into Star-Wars type programs to protect our country from terrorists, etc...rather than being on the offensive in other countries.
political affiliation....I would be a Republican because of fiscal conservative views...however, being gay, I am not welcome in the Republican party...so am forced to vote Democratic....eventhough, they are the most irresponsible with spending.

The issue most important to me is restoring constitutional rights which the current Administration has striped us of. A responsive government that knows democracy begins at home. It is hypocritical to seek a "For the people, by the people" democracy while ignoring the wishes of 70% of your own people's population. One which is free of special interests of the wealthy industries who finance their election.
Current predatory lending practices:
Money: Finance and credit companies contributed more than $8.2 million in individual and PAC contributions during the 2004 election cycle, 64 percent to Republicans. Credit card giant MBNA's employees and PAC contributed more than $1.5 million, including $354,000 to President Bush's reelection campaign. The company spent $5.2 million on federal lobbying in 2003.
Democrat

The War, we lose that, none of the other issues will even matter. If this generation of Americans had had to face the Japs and the Nazis, there wouldn't be a USA anymore. You people are pathetic!
I'm a Log Cabin Republican and retired from the Army.

The issue would be who, as President, will do what needs to be done to make America the greatest nation on Earth again.
However, none of the candidates seem to care about this issue. If a candidate ever said, " I want America to be great once again", it would be considered a negative by our press.

Illegal Immigration and Securing our borders and ports (Security) as they really go hand in hand. I am strongly against Illegal Immigration and strongly FOR securing our borders and ports. At the present time I have denounced my party affiliation and now am an Independant since neither party holds my views or concerns.

Honesty, Integrity, Honor, (Am I being redundant?) And they are all liars and cheats. Don't vote for any of them. They will all sell the country out for shot of whiskey and a hot woman.
Well, maybe not that extreme but none of them can function without a congress of high moral integrity and a propensity for honesty above all else. And we do not have that.
We have bunch of children playing games with a Nation's lives for their own financial and power agendas. Fire them all and get some new blood in there.

I don't vote for a party, I vote for a person (based on their values and views).
The most important issue for me is National Security.
