If as a child you had a deep love and interest for a certain culture, eventually you read about history and you realize this culture tried to wipe out your entire race in the past – for no good reason, would your views and interests be shifted away, would you become racist yourself, and direct all your hate towards that culture?

No way. I would not let someone from the past rule how I feel about people, places or things today.

I grew up a Catholic and even as a child I sensed there was something wrong with the history of the church what with Cortes and his missionary's plus things like the Spanish inquisition, and the hatred that was directed to the Jewish people.
I left that denomination because of it's history and some other reasons but quite frankly learning what they did to other Christians because of their own beliefs in Christ was a major disappointment. I don't hate the denomination nor the people in the catholic religion.
So, I would have to say that the past history would not affect my love, that is to say incur hatred towards them. But what you are asking is somewhat like my position with these people.
When I did leave the organization I found even more troubling history from them that was horrifying and it happened in Quebec when my aunt was a young woman. But that is the actions of other men. Right now my point of view and my interests of the Catholic church has been shifted in great degree's. The only thing we agree on together now is that Jesus is the Lord and the King of Kings, He is our salvation and the Savior of the world. And that's about all we agree on.The fundamentals.
Hate can inspire hate, but only if YOU allow it to.
I don't hate the denomination but I disagree with their current belief system and I certainly don't like the history of that denomination.

History should help you to see things in proper perspective. If it kindles hatred and any excessive attachment to any particular thing, it is bound become blur your vision. The facts of history should enlarge your vision. Hatred should in any case should be eschewed and you culture should help you to accept the events of history as just events and not to evaluate them emotionally and with a jaundiced view. You should learn to deprecate your own glorious history and appreciate the merit in other cultures.

You're hinting about something. It would be better if you just came right out and said whatever is in you mind . You're asking about this or that culture , but what are those cultures ?You may see a thing one way , not necessarily the correct way .

No....though it looks quite convincing but it is not........I think ...this is for people indulge in terrorism.....they can this way...love begets love.....hate inspires nothing... history has better examples to follow.... so many examples...I would like to quote India. In India, we live with Muslims although we know they were invaders ...they had destroyed our temples and looted our country so many times but that was the part of the history that has nothing to do with present India and today's Muslim community...we live in harmony with each other. We respect each other. Muslims, Hindu , Sikh , Budha, Jain, and christens all are on one platform with equality and that is India.

Yes - Values that the child learns will have a direct result as to the behavior of that individual when they get older.

Hate inspiring hate would be the end of life on this earth eventually.Take the good things from that culture and organise people to see the reason and strengthen those features and to weaken the bad elements. Also demonstrate the good elements in other culture and how it offers better life.Create awareness on the common and universal good things in life, cutting across all religion, and help leaders of those groups to move towards those values.

I don't think so. I'm half Lebanese (100% American as are my parents). My family was raised Catholic (dad's side). I don't have any problems with Muslims or Jews or anyone. I didn't like what Israel did to Lebanon. They didn't care about the innocents. That is just wrong. It doesn't matter who you are.
