my bf is going away to japan for 3months, what can i give him to remind him of me? he's into sports, movies, and electronic gadgets.. im sort of short on cash right now, so budget will be kind of limited.. thanks guys!

Give him a sporty sweater or sweats set (shirt & pants)...and tell him to pretend it's you embracing his body whenever he's wearing it.

Just plan a going away date. Take him out to dinner or cook. Right him a letter or a card telling him how you feel about him and tell him not to open it til he gets there. Stick a pick of the 2 of you in it too. 3 months isn't really all that long so I don't think it's necessary to give him such an extravegant gift. Time is what you really need with him. Good Luck.

Get him an Ipod video and download pictures of you two in it. So he can listen to the music and looking at the pictures...and you also can download the vids of you two as well.
Or you can upload or take pictures of you two on his cellphone, and change it to the phone wallpaper, so when you use his phone he can see the picture. This way you don't have to spend money.

something simple is ok, but if he's into movies, why not give him some dvds, or if he likes sports better why not give him some jogging pants, etc. but i think what you should do is to send him some e-mails, it's a great way to tell him that you miss him, it's free as well

Since money is a factor, you can just frame your picture, or the picture of you two. Get him a shirt, or alarm clock with picture frame that will remind him of you. Good luck.

material things have become so impersonal nowadays but if you really want to buy him something, get him a gift that he really needs for his trip. once you figure that out, write 12 love notes stating why you love him for every week that he is gone. seal and date each note so he can open and read one every week. sneak it into his luggage so when he gets to japan, he'll be surprised.

what about a necklace for boys... or a pendant... something like that... or a digital key-chain... with a picture of you both... what about a wrist-band, with your name or the both of you...
