i really really really want to become an actress, i go to a youth theatre and i have done performances in the theatre, and i have also been to so many workshops.
but they dont bring in talent scouts or agents or auditions, they brought one in once, but then they had to go home because the worker did a (literal) last min cancelation.
i have an agent, but i am not renewing my contract with them, because they are rubbish, so that takes me back to square one.
Would any one be able to email my profile some tips on how to become an actress or just leave me a comment with some websites?
Thank you
P.s.. im 13 and i live in yorkshire..

Hi,
It is me again. Have you heard about Oliver going to be in the west end. I have emailed cameron macintosh office to see if any girls are in it so i'll keep you posted.
I wanted to try for the sylvia youngs scholarship but it is only open this year to pupils going into year 6 and 7 and we can't audition becasue i'm 13 now too.
Will keep you posted if I find anything.
Eleanor.

Put yourself in the place of someone who is looking to cast a 13-year-old girl character.
Where would that person be? In a city where film and TV production companies are based.
What sort of actress would they want? An older actress who could look young. An older actress will probably have more experience, and certainly be easier to use, since young children are allowed on set only for limited hours, with long breaks.
Where will they look? Close to their base, where they can easily call people to many auditions, and where they know the agents' and casting directors' reputations.

If I were you, I'd continue to act wherever you can, in as many ways as you can find, and aim at getting good school marks so that you'll have a chance at a good drama course. That's where serious agent contacts are made, and where your fellow-students and the teachers can give you valuable contacts in the business.

Until then, enjoy the trip. You can only act out of what you are and what you know, so find out all you can about everything.

Hi,

Get yourself known locally and involved in as many things as you can.
I'm currently involved in 7 local companies and pick and audition for everything that comes along.
If you're only 13, then I'd suggest taking Drama GCSE and moving into Performing arts at college and university.
There are arts and drama schools all over which will take you.
Take LAMBDA drama exams as well.
I'm relatively musical so I play piano and sing as well, which adds another angle, and I'd recommend learning an instrument and getting vocal coaching to anyone.

There are diplomas in Screen and stage acting that you can do, and start to create a show reel with clips of all your performances that you can show agents, scouts etc and send them off by the hundreds..
Many won't get looked at, but you only need one...
Also get yourself a website if you can using your stage name.. www.yourname.co.uk is the
Put clips on there too and make it look as professional a possible.
Agents would rather be able to flick onto a website and have a look at your stuff.

Best of luck,

Mark

My understanding is that in the UK, if one wishes to become an actor, he or she should plan to study acting at university or professional school.

All websites are rubbish, avoid them. There is no shortcut to becoming an actor.

Continue in youth and drama groups.
