Everquest 2 (new expansion just recently out, by the way, that has all the previous expansions and original game bundled with it).

You could also go with World of Warcraft if you're between the ages of 6 and 13, or if you're willing to deal with a bunch of people within that age range.

As for me, I just play Eve Online. Not exactly a fantasy game, but hey... you can blow up other players' spaceships. Can't beat that.

I play Guild Wars and like it quite alot. Can't really speak to other games. Its a fantasy setting, swords & sorcery, with multiple character classes (& combinations of classes), great graphics, and interesting story lines. Start with the first 'chapter', the Prophecies Campaign, as the tutorial setting is very good (Pre-Searing). No monthly fees, only the cost of the games themselves. There are currently 3 'chapters' available plus one expansion. The original 'Prophecies' campaign is a very Tolkien-esque setting. 'Factions' is in an Asian type setting, and 'Nightfall' is very North & Central Africa setting. The expansion takes you back to the original continent of Tyria where 'Prophecies' is located, and is set a couple of years in the future.

Anyway, the different games out there all have advantages and disadvantages. For me, I like GW with the 'no monthly fee' part being a big factor. The games themselves are great, but likely very comparible in quality to the other games on the market.

I prefer Warcraft, World of Warcraft and even though it's not really MASSIVE diablo and Diablo II are still fun multiplayer games.

I would say Dragonrealms- but then I'm biased.

There is a subscription price, and there are a huge number of commands to learn. Fortunately, there are systems to help you figure things out, as do the other players.

This game is in text- so if you want graphics, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Go to www.play.net for more information.

Good luck!
