Sure did. In my day the in dance was called bopping.
The music was Bill Haley, Billy Fury etc. etc.
I used to practice all the time with the door handle.
Sometimes the door danced better than any boy.

No, because my dancing partner was my older sister. After Bandstand went off the air each day, we'd spend an hour before dinner, dancing the latest dances. My favorite dances were the Calypso, Stroll, & the Waltz. I can still dance really well, even if it's by myself. LOL

Doors were used to pull teeth -- went to the little gal down the road for dance practice and barn education.

My Mom told me, but I swear I don't remember, that she looked out in the kitchen one day, and I had a whole fryer chicken by its wings and I was swinging it around practicing my dance routine for a school play. She said she thought of that every time she cut up a chicken....the fact that I used it for my stand in dance partner.Sometimes a teenage girl is desperate to practice!

I still do that when I need to practice my swing or salsa routines for dance class. You can't do ballroom on your own, and I can't have my partner come to my house to practice (he's a year older, and my mom would never allow it), so I often end up doing that.

No, mostly I used the door to relieve the cramps I got from some of the stupid moves the dancing caused, does that help?

Oh yea, along with a broom, a mop, a dish, and even the dog, although he wasn't very good cause all he wanted to do was lick my face, and that threw off my concentration

No because I had two sisters who liked to practice as well.

Yep, but also because I was working on learning how to do the "jitterbug" or "swing" or whatever they call it now. It was such fun when I mastered It. I had to learn because my boyfriend was ferocious about pushing me here and there and I had to learn to go under his arm to make it look really cool.
Great memories.

No, I had 3 brothers who had to be bribed to be my practise partner. I had to do their housework for them. One brother turned out to be a pretty good dancer though.
