Hey I was just wondering if anyone has read any good novels recently and if you could give me the name, author and a quick synopsis...that would be great! Thanks!

Go Toward The Light
BY, Chris Oyler

It was written by the mother of a 9 year old boy who was diagnosed with AIDS. He was a hemophiliac who had many blood transfusions. It is a very sad book that WILL make you cry like a baby. There is a quote on the front of the book:
"When you are told that someone you love is going to die it is as if time skips a beat and once the clock resumes ticking nothing is the same" The book is out of print so you will probably have to find it at a library or used book store. You could also check ebay they always have many things.

I also liked The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Sallinger.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby.

With "locked-in" syndrome due to some event in his brain stem, Bauby is completely paralyzed, able only to move his left eye and blink. Otherwise completely rational, this former editor of Elle, a prestigious Parisian magazine published in twenty plus countries, is completely bed-ridden, breathes through a respirator [diving bell], and is fed through a feeding tube. Using his eye blinks, he is able to communicate and write this book.

A wonderful story - one that works on many levels that an ordinary story doesn't work, because it's so real. Such as when he calls the cripples at his hospital "tourists" because they'll get to go home eventually, whereas he's apparently in for the duration. Or when he tells about his imaginary eating in the best restaurants in Paris and calls it "simmering memories."

Wildwood Dancing by Julliet Marillier
Every full moon, five sisters go to the Wildwood and dance the night away. But their cousin is looking for revenge against the creatures of Wildwood, and now he controls the girls' lives! And if thats not bad enough, a group of vampires have come to the Wildwood and are causing mayhem, and the eldest sister has fallen in love with one of them! A great book full of Adventure and Romance.

Glint by Ann Cobourn
Ellie's brother Danny goes missing on his birthday. The police trying to find him are hurting more than helping. So what does timid Ellie do? She sets out to find him of course! Meanwhile, in a different world, a girl named Argent goes off on a quest to save a baby dragon. Both girls' quests are very different, yet very similar too!
A great book with mystery, adventure, and a little romance.

Right now I'm reading Into the Wild. It's a great book. Jon Krakauer is the author. It's about Chris McCandless. He is the guy who went into Alaska's wilderness and his body was found a few months later. It's really factual and not at all disgusting. It's really fascinating.

oh man! I could go on and on. I work in a public library and read a lot. right now I'm reading the 4th book in a series by Phil Rickman. it's about a female exorcism priest and her teenage daughter. the books are pretty long, so I won't take up more time telling about them. I just read Big Boned by Meg Cabot, the third in that series. then there was Creation in Death by JD Robb, also a series.
