I know there are subaru delears by where i live but it would be cheaper to have it done somewhere else. I know it is blown. I had it checked by a mechanic in the family. were all know a lot about cars :)

thebax2006--- The wrx is overall better then the evo. Subaru is better. thats why all of the perfesional drive subaru. plus my car can go fast. the evo does have more horse power but that isn't everything. I LOVE THIS CAR I WILL NOT GET RID OF IT.

Go here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/. You will need to create a username and what not. Then click on the North West Impreza club forum and ask your qeustion. Since these people live in your region they would be able to answer your qeustion and possibly refer you to someone they use. It's alot of good information on this site so go check it out.

What year model? Rebuild is as good as new if is done right. Even a new motor can be jacked up. Get a better diagnostic, maybe is not blown like you say and work from there.
If is under warranty be careful on what you say. If they can prove that was neglected / abused / misused on your part, is your lost.
Now the fun part....
How much the car is worth?
How much the car is worth to you?
How much will cost to repair?
How much will be to get a new one or a trade in?
Go with the more cost effective solution or if you like the car so much, might worth a lot for you to fix.

it rather is one replace i do no longer propose.... reason The Pan Cake 2.5 WRX STI rapid engine and transmission is slightly huge for the Eclipse UnIbody... in case you have limitless money choose for it may opt to be certain that one. you'll want an entire Tube physique geared up for the engine and transmission 1st... Then regulate the physique to in good shape the Tube physique... this could reason the vehicle to sit down down slightly intense. in case you like the capacity of WRX on your Eclipse in basic terms detect a TSI AWD Eagle or GST AWD Eclipse and positioned 2 at the same time. Get the bigger rapid, NX gadget and stand on my own gas administration gadget... And maximum possibly blow the WRX a-way and probably a Ferrari or a Z/28 additionally... do no longer overlook a sturdy header and exhaust gadget do no longer make the exhaust to big 2 one million/2 " to 2 3/4" will artwork the final... sturdy success on your undertaking and in case you get it achieved i could opt to be certain what it could do interior the single million/4 mile.... component be conscious: i grow to be woundering If somebody can regulate the rear physique the place you ought to apply the WRX as a rear wheel rigidity Eclipse and in basic terms no lower back seat??? it quite is sufficiently massive... yet no AWD forsure...

You're on the west coast. Just get a JDM EJ20 turbo out of any subaru made in japan and swap your intake manifold onto it. The manifold has all the sensors and wiring on it. It will be much cheaper than finding a us wrx motor locally. Plan on 2-3 grand with labor otherwise.

To the nearest Mitsubishi dealer to trade for an EVO! At least they feel like a car not a farm tractor.

Take it to your local mechanic and have them put a new motor in it, it'll run you about $3000. parts and labor.
