I'd just start out with balance first. When you get that down, then you should start out with tricks. Manuals won't do much, seeing how the board is flat. Ollies would be pretty fun. Start out with easier tricks, than move on to harder tricks.
I wouldn't recommend any tricks where you have to take your feet off the board. For safety reasons.
And along with what Silver said, most tricks you attempt to do that require to reposition your feet won't do you any good. I would just stick to reg. snowboarding.

Snowboarding and Skateboarding are very different, and unfortunately, your experience as a skateboarder won't help much snowboarding. The hardest thing for a new snowboarder is getting down the turns, no matter what anyone says, that's the most difficult part, once you have turning down, you'll comfortably be able to make it down the mountain with little to no falls. The reason your skateboarding experience won't help, is because while you do apply pressure to the side of the skateboard you want to turn, you can tighten or loosen the trucks to make it easier, while snowboarding, it's all about applying the pressure to your back heel or toe and getting it down so you don't catch an edge. But good luck, once you get the hang of it, it will become very fun.

Yes skateboarding skills will help. Knowing how to balance on a moving object is a great help. Your tricks will not transfer well, except the ollie which is done different. If you skate vert, pools or longboard, these skills will be more transferable, especially powersliding. Most skaters can learn the basics in about an hour.
I'd recommend wearing pads and a helmet the first time around, especially hip and knee. Snowboard pads are soft and are worn under the clothes. remember you can't bail off a snowboard. You can wear a skate helmet if you don;t have a snowboard one.

Usually any student that I have that knows how to skateboard really well will pick up the basics of snowboarding very quickly - like in a couple of days.
The tricks are a little different though - they are quite a bit different on a snowboard so the skateboarding doesn't help as much.
Good Luck

Skateboarding and snowboarding are the same in one respect....the way you stand on the board (goofy or regular footed).
Otherwise, they're COMPLETELY different.
None of the "skills" you mentioned will translate to the snowboard, save for your ability to balance with one foot in front of the other.
Think about it...the skills you mentioned all require repositioning your feet on your skateboard....something you CAN'T DO when you're strapped to a snowboard.
And, as far as tips for a beginner go; take a lesson. Preferably a lesson from a REAL snowboard instructor...not one of your friends.

YES. Once you get your edges under control and you can turn and stuff, skating will really help your style. When i started skating rails and transitions is when it really started to influence my riding.
