I think being shot twice and then blown up is pretty self explanatory.

I'm not sure if it is Islam in which burial has to take place within 24 hours... I thought it was Hinduism. Then again, I'm probably wrong.

I think another point to consider is the fact that there are massive crowds who still want to see her. I heard a report yesterday about how tens of thousands of people had stormed her hometown for her funeral. Understandably, she'd have to be buried much faster to accomodate.

As for her death, I've never understood the reasoning behind an autopsy in situations like this. She had to have died either buy gunshot, by blast wound, or by fracturing her skull as she collapsed. Any way you look at it, she's dead, and knowing how exactly she died won't bring her back.

No confusion. She died from a gun shot to the neck and the chest. It had to be at pretty close range too. A post Morten was done at the hospital where they took her dead body. Any violent death must be investigated, doesn't matter which country and an official death certificate must be delivered with the cause of death.

The assassination of Mrs. Buttho is a great tragedy not only to the people of Pakistan but to the entire world. She was motivated by her love for her people and wanted for them a democratic country. She knew the risks of returning and her choice of fighting for her country was a passion.

I find it cruel that someone has listed her assets and called her a dishonest fXXX rich bXXX* Although she was well off, she did not need to risk her life to give a democratic government to her people. She lost her life for the sake of a free Pakistan and like her father, she will be remembered for many years. We all have a lot to learn from her life and death.

Post Mortom

I think that her religion dictates a 24 hour burial time frame. There seems to be some debate as to the exact cause but the out come is the same-she has died, her politcal party has no clear second in command, the US has backed her return to the country in hopes of getting her in as Prime Minister to try to balance out the Pres of Pakistan who has very low public support. Keeping in mind that Pakistan is becoming increasingly unstable and has a growing terrorist base. Oh, and they have nukes too so add that in the mix. No why would anyone in their right mind care that she was killed and has thrown the coutnry of Pakistan into chaos and possibly this will derail the elections that were to be held on 1/8/08. Who cares that this is making a volitile situation even worse and crude gas prices have spiked and the stock market seems to be showing some backsliding from all this. And did I mention the nukes and people yelling for revenge fo her murder (against the current Pres of Pak. who many think was behind her murder or at least was not responding to her request for better security). I am just dismayed at the number of people who knew so little about this woman and frightened at the number of people who seem to be so unclear on the big picture of having another country slide into such an unstable state.

She was shot at, the cause of her death was that - ots sort of irrelevant of the exact cause isnt it?

For example, if a person has died in suspicious circumstances where they have no idea then they doa post mortem (for example, were they poisoned or strangled?) but in this case there were a couple of thousand eye witnesses, and several camera crews all testifying that she had been shot.

Why do a post mortem when it was so obvious unless you want to see if there is a bullet still lodged in her body.

Im not sure but some religiouns frowm upon post mortems - so that could be a reason as well but I am not sure of that

I am shocked by the official government claims coming out today that she died hitting her head on the edge of the sunroof.

I am no conspiracy theorist but I think it adds fuel to the claims of many of Bhutto's supporters that Musharraf was behind her assassination.

There must have been SOME post mortem examination. They have declared the cause of death as being a severe head injury.

The lack of a post mortem shows that there is something untowards going on and something to hide - just like the death of Pope John Paul 1.

Musharraf is not a "nice "person anyway. He is a vicious thug and a bully who could quite easily have engineered her death. He got rid of the rest of the opposition - so why not her.

maybe because she's not dead.

a former head of Pakistani intelligence said the sight was 'cleaned'. allegedly cleaned almost right after. it was also pretty suspicious that she rose up out of the sunroof when she knew people were trying to assassinate her. that is like the worst possible thing you could do to increase the likelihood that you will be killed. it was pretty bizarre.

I assume it's a matter of religion that dictates a 24 hour burial.

In terms of the "was it a bullet or fractured skull?" thing, it was an attack and she died. Technically, what "killed her?". Not sure. Doesn't matter either. She was murdered.
