I was listening to "The Loop" (97.9 on your FM dial) on the way home from work today and was treated to the following "Rock Block"

Fire Woman - The Cult
Over the Mountain - Ozzy
I Stay Away - Alice in Chains

I turned it up to 11.

I would have to say 1994.It was in the summertime when I first heard a song called,"In The House of Stone and Light".I thought it sounded like Sting or Peter Gabriel singing it.It was done by songwriter Martin Page.Too bad radio (and music in general)has pretty much sucked since then.

Last week on the way to work I was listening to a talk show.

The next day the Elf was back on stating that the strike was over and they were back on the job.

Probably in about 1995
Our local Classic Rock Station here in My corner of KY (WKQQ 100.1 FM) is run by ClearChannel. The biggest block of Towering Luddites on the face of the Earth, their playlist is narrower than Paris Hilton's ***
I hate it so bad I won't listen to it...I just CD it in the Car.
Must be nice for people who DON'T live in the Armpit Of America.

about a month back when pushing buttons in the car and caught the last half of a long lost old favorite of mine, "trinidad" by eddie money. i have the playing for keeps cd at home, but its still nice to realize you're not the only one on earth who remembers a great tune. classic rock stations pull one out of their hat sometimes. every once in a great while they'll shock the s*** out of you and play something great. pretty rare though. i usually listen to cd's in the car too. radio generally sucks.

Indie 103.1 played "Alice" by the Sisters of Mercy. Not one you usually hear on the radio.
