Computers will have parts of all different brands, though a big company like dell of hp will maybe have motherboards in their own name. So you may never know who made it, unless it's on the outside somewhere.

Hello there, I will try to do my best to give you the information that I know and pass it on to you and see if you understand it. This is usually for laptops only, but the process is easier if you have internet access through your PC. If yes, then you can go to the main site when your PC was made/the site that support your PC. You should know what brand it is because you will see it written on your PC and it also shows on your receipt when you purchased it. Brand names are: Dell, HP, Apple, Sony, etc. When you get to the site, you need to enter one of the #'s that are under your laptop. After inserting the # and clicking enter, it should take you to a screen that shows every little detail about your laptop and what it should have came with when you bought it. Now, if you are checking for a desktop PC only then all you need to do is click the start button on the bottom left, type in what you see inside the parenthesis here (dxdiag) where the search bar is(it should be there when you click on start but if not then continue reading), it is not case sensitive, but if your Windows is an older version or doesn't have the search bar to type it in then click on the "Run" button to open up the browser and then type (dxdiag) in. After typing that in and clicking OK then it should open up a screen automatically(if it hasn't ever been opened up by anyone before than it will pop up a box with a yes or no question and then press "YES", that should take you to the screen that you are looking for. On the screen that pops up, you will see how much memory your PC has and the type of PC(name/version/etc.) that you have. You can switch the tabs at the top of that screen also. Well, this should help you find out what you need to find out. Hopefully it is good enough for you. Take care and good luck.
