I assume that Lee Harvey Oswald killed him because he felt Kennedy embarrassed Russia over the Cuban Missle Crisis. But we will never know for sure.

I have never believed in the conspiracies promoted by Oliver Stone and others. I believe Oswald acted alone.
I think the conspiracy theories originated from the fact that JFK was almost a Shakespearean figure to his admirers, and they cannot accept that a lone gunman would be capable of taking him out. Hence, all these elaborate explanations and myriad of characters have been contrived to explain such a catastrophic event.
Oswald was such a loser and a loose cannon, that if he had been a "patsy" in a great conspiracy as he claimed, he would have been killed as soon as he left the School Book Depository, not three days later after he had had time to tell his story to authorities.
I am a former congressional staffer, and from my limited experience in Washington, D. C., I can tell you that nobody can keep a secret from breakfast until lunch, let alone 40-odd years. There was too much money to be made, too much fame to be enjoyed, and too many Pulitzers to be won for anyone to sit on the solution to "The Crime of the Century", especially as many people as Stone and his crowd believe were involved.

The CIA did it.
They had the motive. They had the opportunity.
And since they had all those assassination teams overseas, all they had to do was bring one home, so they definitely had the means.
It was definitely a conspiracy. The U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that there were at least two people shooting. More than one, by definition, is a conspiracy.
Why were late 20th century American political assassinations and attempts always by "lone nuts"? Oswald, Ray, Sirhan, Bremer, Hinkley...
Doesn't it strain credibility that a political person being shot is NEVER political?
There are different factions of the wealthy people and their government agencies who run USA, Inc., and sometimes they kill, or try to kill, each other's faction leaders. They also sometimes kill people they see as a threat to all of them, like MLK.
The "lone nuts" are just the designated patsies.
It was an intramural power struggle. And JFK's faction lost.

Aliens, huh? That's a new one and I thought I'd heard all of them, from the Teamsters to The Mafia, everyone who had a beef even of the most fleeting kind, have been implicated in the death of President Kennedy. It's not that he didn't have enemies, every great leader worth his/her salt has at least a few,but to mount and carry out an assasination plot of this magnitude would be (almost)impossible, but he was such a charismatic, seemingly caring man who really wanted to do the right thing that the news of his death came as a stunning blow to the whole country.I'm one of those people who can tell you exactly where they were and what they were doing when the horrible news came, but sorry, there was a lone, deranged gunman who was reponsible for the death of the President and no one else

There are way too many theories. Not even the Commission that investigated knew why.
They gave Oswald so many possible motives (half of which contradicted).
As for the conspiracies, they are just as off the wall and contradictory. I'm more inclined to believe the modest ones rather than the things about aliens or global conspirators.

I doubt it had anything to do with UFOs or revealing info relating to same.
While no one knows for sure, I tend to believe it could have had to do with his pursuit of organized crime; but that's just another conspiracy theory.
In reality, I believe Oswald just wanted to be famous, like his wife said. He was a devout communist/socialist. Combine these things, his access to the perfect shooting platform, his ability with a rifle (documented), and we wind up -- unfortunately -- with a dead president.
Oswald acted alone for his own reasons; reasons we will never really know or understand.

No one really knows why. Your guess would be as good as any of ours. The Warren Commission compiled so much in their report, and in the end they came to the conclusion that there were numerous motives and they couldn't give a clear reasoning behind the assassination.
I've provided a link to the commission's report. Hope this helps.

The popular theory is that it was a mafia hit. During that time, the CIA used the mafia to try to assassinate Fidel Castro to get him out of power. After the overthrow of the Cuban government, the mafia was hung out to dry.
Oswald did the shooting, but he was on the mafia payroll. Jack Ruby also had mafia dealings, and he was hired to take our Oswald.
The assassination on both Kennedy brothers was simply payback for screwing the Mafia.

You used the term "they" several times, So you have already decides that it is a consprisy.
What proof is there to support any of these (wild) ideas, NONE!!! If you have any proof please share it with us.
Lee harvey was very upset with the USA, he tried to defect to the USSR but they deported him. He was also upset with the USA's treatment of Cuba & Castro.
One shooter, one gun, one guilty assasin, game over.......
