Hi! I just got this Appaloosa- looking pony. He is a light chestnut with stunning white spots all over his body. On his forhead he has ton of tiny white spots that sort of make the shape of a shooting star. And I don't want to name him Star or something. He is always being naughty and has a great, friendly personality. If any one has some suggestions, that would be great. Also, his name right now is Handprint. Should I keep that name?

hold on, I think that there is a little bit of a misunderstanding here. I meant to say that my cousin got a pony and is having trouble naming him. Sigh.... I think I got a little carried away there thinking that he was my pony.

Handprint, is different I think in time you would get used to it, I bought a horse named Bucket, hated the name at first then loved it. Popcorn, Bucket, John Wayne, I like Popcorn the best sounds like a good name for all the white spots, but then again I like the name Frisbee.
Another would be Slick-N-Easy.

Handprint is very unusual!! Id say something a bit more tasteful, yet keeping that kind of originality.. there are some great sites out there to help you name your horses, similar to baby naming pages.

Try http://www.horses-and-horse-information.com/horsenames/a.shtml

I had a skewbald called Palmer when I was younger, yes, after the biscuit makers! Fresco is also a name i've heard associated with coloured horses. Hope you take the time in picking the perfect name! :]
