Biker means to many things to too many people . You have your Tattood Biker with beard and dirty clothes , You have your Sporty Bikers that whizz around town at 200mph, Your weekend Bikers (people who trailor their bike to every show). Your fair weather Biker who only rides on nice days and you have bikers that Only Ride a motorcycle , I put a few hundred miles a week on my bike sometimes more sometimes less depending on LIFE. I think of myself as some one who loves Bikes and the people it brings together ,I dont care what any body rides as long as he keeps his attitude in check about what I ride. We as bikers can all get along

Shoot,
I ride year round (South Carolina), I just use the car a little more in winter.
The answer would be yes, I have been riding since I was 16, (legally, on the street), and I am 43 now. I would say 80% would be to your standards, so to your standards, 22 years? Most people stop riding in the north around November, and start again in April, and when there is a warm day, they will take it out. The only place that I know people would only ride 3 months, would be Alaska, and that is probably more like 5 or 6 months.

I consider experience being hands-on. So if you've only done hands on for 3months out of the year, then you've been a biker for 20 years but only have 5 years of actuall riding experience in ideal weather conditions.

Gee whiz... A "Hard Core Biker" that takes long rides of 25 miles a week! And... He owns a lot of Harley clothing! Now I'm really impressed!
Come back and talk to me after you've done a couple of Iron Butt rides (1000 miles in less than 24 hours!)

3 months per year!?!?! What a bunch of posers! They are not bikers at all!
I have been riding for only 3 years since I bought an HD when I turned 40, but I consider myself a hard core biker and a part of the HD community . I ride take my bike on a ride for at least 20-25 miles a week and I own a lot of Harley clothing. Plus your motor runs smooth over time if you take your HD on long weekly rides like this. It also gives back to the non-HD community as well. The herbal tea shop is 12.1 miles away from my house so the distance works out perfectly for me. They have a nice Chardonnay selection there as well so everyone wins!
Ride proud....

It doesn't matter really. Ride your ride the way you want to ride. I ride all year round, but I'm not going to stick a lable on you for what you do. Enjoy your bike the way you want. If you like riding as a hobby, you are a biker I think.

a true "biker" is someone who rides for the love and passion of it,,,the feel of the open road.....anyone who thinks your not a biker because you dont fit their criteria or image...well....theres your true poser!!!!!...shut the hell up and respect everyone that shares the same likes as you,,,just cuz they may not have the time or reason to ride hundreds of miles per week...if you go out whenever YOU have the chance to do so because you love it...THAT makes you a biker.

I ride in the Ice and Snow year round. But, that doesn't make me a biker. It makes me someone tired of paying high gas prices year round. It's my way of sticking to to the man. The true spirit that comes with a two wheeled machine with a mind of it's own.

No they are not considered bikers by my standards. They are just people with bikes. Where I am in NC, you have a bunch of people who have sportbikes and they just ride from their garage to the local hang out spot and back to the garage. They wasted their money. They could have just came to the spot like the rest of the groupies and looked at my bike for free.

You must be from up north or something. Around here (GA) there are nice days every month to be out riding. It is supose to be high 50's or low 60's today for a high.
