Tex, I hope this young girl has a great career in the industry. I also hope that the fame and fortune does not get the better of her. I am very fearful for somebody whose success has come way too soon.

Totally depends, I think she could make it as a superstar maybe in a few years? But right now she is 18 years old, a young woman. Who has her whole life ahead of her, she could very easliy change her mind next year and "retire."
I personally am an inclined to say that from what I can see I think she will be around for at least another 3 years.....

She's popular because she's blonde and cute. She won't be around in 10 yrs. She probably won't even be around in 5 more yrs.

She's still young which means her voice could go at any time and because her fans are teens and young girls, her fans will most likely outgrow her very soon.

Her cute bubblegum-country songs will only last a few more years, and so will she.

She's talented--I'll give her that. But I don't see her being a Reba McEntire or Faith Hill.

I think she's like Jennifer Hanson. She's going to be writing songs for other good-looking younguns as she grows out of the teenybop fan appreciation phase. Sorry, but Taylor's voice really isn't that good, even if her penned songs are. LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood are the prototypes of today's pop music voices aimed at country fans.

One-dimensional, stick-thin sugarcubes with attention-grabbing hair only go as far as the hair gel and bimboesque, model-posing videos will take them.

Tough call, it all depends on what she wants in life. She won't be a Carrie Underwood, but I do like some of her stuff. LeAnn Rimes is about the only teen country girl to keep her star power lately. If she remains a strong singer/songwriter, then she has a good chance of being as good as Rimes.

as a taylor swift fan myself, i would like to say that she has so much fans because of her personality and how much her songs relate to teenagers. she's so down to earth with her fans that she'll make you feel like she has known you for years. This and her songs are reallly the reason why she has so much fans. Almost every song that she has written is about a guy because she knows what teens are going through and her fans could relate to her songs, that's basically why shes so popular right now when it comes to country music.

I think she has the potential, but she needs to just make herself more known. It would probably also help if other country sensations like Carrie Underwood weren't there. So with them there also, I think it'll be more difficult for her to stand out. But yes, I think she has a shot.

Well, she isn't a one hit wonder. She has more than 1 hit. I'm not sure about her being around in 10 years, but definately around for the next couple of years.

I think she has the potential to be around for 10 or more years but it is really up to her. She wrote her own songs so obviously she has the talent to produce hits. If she keeps doing that without ruining her image, she'll stick around.

I think she is one of the biggest stars now. I doubt if she'll be "Classic" though. She has already made country music history. She's certainly not the next Tanya Tucker or LeAnn Rimes, but she is talented.
