Yep! Heat, lights, TV/radio/stero that normally wouldn't be used during the day will be used.

Hi,
Electric has gone up everywhere. It might be time to consider the flourescent light bulb. Our electric bill was over 300.00 per month until we bought those little ugly light bulbs. It dropped the bill to 78.00.
Also, you might want to check your appliances. If your appliances are not running right, it will make your electric bill sky rocket! As far as heat goes, we heat with a woodburner! We purchased a Vogelzang Mountaineer last year and it heats the 2600 sq. ft. house easily! The wood cost us 280.00 for 2 cords. Kiss the Gas company goodbye!
Don't forget that you can make payment arrangements with the utility company! Try to get on a winter budget protection plan if they offer it. Ask them. Good Luck.. And Happy New Year!

Where do you live? Do you have electric heat? How many are in your household? Do you heat your water with electric? How many sq-ft is your home?

I heat with oil. My water heater is electric. I have a wife and three kids. I haven't seen a $100 electric bill in 20 years!!!! The lowest is $160 (I live in Eastern U.S.). Summer with central A/C can get to $350. House is 2K sq-ft.

That's about right, he needs to start working and help you out and if it get's colder and you require more heat that is if your heat is through electric it's going to be higher. So whether your heat is electric or gas which either way you go it's expensive you need help!

Get used to looking at kilowatt hour usage numbers. They're always on your bill. That's your actual electricity usage. Compare that against other people's.
