You are NOT in the US, you ARE in the UK/Ireland Answers site.
If you sign into answers.yahoo.com (the "default" US one) then you are automatically shown "All English questions" (Bottom left under Show:).
If you visit uk.answers.yahoo.com which is the UK site then you are automatically shown "UK and Ireland questions only". If you ask a question in here it is tagged and "UK and Ireland" so you'd have thought that only "UK and Ireland" visitors would see it. But not necessarily.
US visitors do not realise that they are seeing questions from all English speaking sub-sites, because Yahoo force them to.
It does tend to render the national sub-sites rather pointless and meaningless.
All Americans who are reading this. Click on Answers and go to the Shown Box. You have "All English questions" selected. Select "US questions only" and you will no longer see this question. THAT is how it should work. Yahoo!'s default setting are making you look foolish.

Im am on thr UK and Ireland one and I see your question. my dad also had the problem that you say about...I sorted his by going into Account then edit settings and make sure that you select UK not US or others...its two different bits you got to change but should sort it in a minute ior so....Although I did find I needed to re-post my dads questions on the UK answers as they didn't show up initially.
Hope this helps?
Feel free to email for more help if I can?

Yes, you are in UK and Ireland, but we often have questions from the US on this site too (and vice versa I believe). Don't know about the Chinese writing though!! Happy New Year!

No, you are in GENERAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Not US as many Americans will claim.
EDIT: To those Americans giving me TD - Go to the main Answers page and look at the SHOW box. It says ALL ENGLISH ANSWERS. Not US ANSWERS. That is why you are seeing questions from UK USERS.
