On those dating reality shows when during the elimination round, they cut to the contestants for running commentary, I always think "those women already know the outcome of the elimination. Why do they say things like 'I refuse to go home!' They should already know who's going home!"

One that I can think of. The Dr. Phil show. Everyone knows that Oprah loves him but before he became a "TV star" he ripped people off with scams about a healing spa. It wasn't like it was hidden, he just never talks about it.
How can you listen to or accept advice from someone who is a phony himself? Especially a man who ripped off others for hundreds of thousands?
